Your trekking days start with one of the most pleasant customs in Nepal . Your staff will greet you with “bed tea” as you wake up. Tea is followed by a bowl of hot water for washing. Generally, you'll pack up your gear before breakfast so your porters can get an early start on the day. At the same time, your staff will prepare a varied and nutritious breakfast to help get you going up the trail.
You'll be encouraged to travel at a comfortable pace during the day with frequent stops for snacks and water. You'll also have ample time to interact with the local people and take in both the large and small wonders of the countryside. One of your staff will bring up the rear of your group and be available to answer questions about the environment, people, and the best path to take.
Typically, you'll walk for 3 to 4 hours in the morning before stopping for lunch, either beside the trail or at a tea house. After lunch and a rest, another 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon will take you to camp, where your staff will serve tea and snacks while your equipment arrives, camp is set up, and dinner is prepared.
Often, after arriving at camp or the lodge, you'll have a chance to take a nap, walk around camp, take a short hike to a viewpoint, or just hang out with the staff. After dinner, you'll be able to kick back, relax, and settle in for a warm, comfortable night. (with dreams of bed tea in the morning).
