► Trekking in Nepal

Annapurna Region
Most treks in this area start from Pokhara, 90 miles west of Kathmandu. The Pokhara Valley lies in the shadow of the spectacular Annapurna Range. From the valley, numerous trekking routes ascend to the Annapurna Sanctuary, a huge basin in the center of the Annapurna Range , or up the Kali Gandaki Valley to Muktinath or Mustang. The Annapurna Circuit trek takes a long and strenuous route around the north side of the Annapurna Range via the Thorong La. In addition to longer treks, there are also excellent short all season treks in the Annapurna area.

Everest Region (Khumbu)
The Everest region is the most popular and well known area of Nepal. Some of the world's highest and most beautiful peaks, including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam, and Nuptse.  These peaks and many others are easily approached from the Khumbu. In the less frequented Solu region to the south, there are numerous impressive peaks, including the remote and beautiful Numbar/Khatang/Kerolung group.
The Solu Khumbu is also the home of the Sherpa people, whose warm hospitality and skills and mountain guides have made them world famous. Local monasteries are the centers of the Buddhist Lama culture, and religious festivals are colorful and numerous. Most Travel High Solu treks in the Solu Khumbu start with a 35 minute flight to Lukla, a small airstrip 2 days south of Namche Bazar, the most prominent village in Solu Khumbu. Other Travel High Solu treks will start from airstrips or trailheads at Jiri, Phaplu, or Tumlingtar.

Central Region
This region is just north of Kathmandu, bordering Tibet, and includes areas such as Langtang, Gosainkund, Helambu, Ganesh, and Ghorka. Travel High Solu treks in this area begin with vehicle access to the trailheads. These treks offer spectacular scenery, verdant forests, a large variety of wildlife, and a cultural immersion in both Hindu and Buddhist cultures. The high Langtang Valley is dotted with stupas, mani walls, chortens and monasteries. The foothill areas surrounding Kathmandu offer moderate and easy treks.

Western Region

The “Wild West” of Nepal is the most remote and unspoiled region in the country. It is as if time has stood still and the inhabitants continue to live as they have for centuries. The jewel of Western Nepal is the Phoksindo National Park . It is covered by virgin forests and is one of the world's best habitats for the elusive snow leopard, blue sheep, ghoral, musk deer, and other rare wildlife. The Jumla Valley is noted for its remoteness and prime herb hunting areas. Rara Lake is known as the Queen of Lakes, and is the biggest lake in Nepal . The Dolpo region has been open to tourists only since 1991, and is considered to be one of the world's most remote treks. A trek to Tibet 's sacred Mount Kailash ( Tibet ) can be arranged from Simikot, in far northwestern Nepal .

Eastern Region
This area offers a wide variety of cultural influences and a diversity of landscapes from the hot rice growing districts in the south to terraced fields, forests of birch, bamboo and rhododendron, fir and hemlock higher in the mountains. Himalayan bear, barking deer and the lesser panda are among the rare animal species that inhabit the region. You will pass through villages of Brahmins, Chetris, Rai, Gurung, and Sherpa peoples on your way to the high mountains. The impressive peaks of Kangchenjunga, Jannu, and Makalu dominate the area. Some of the most remote and difficult Travel High Solu treks are in this area, including treks to the Kangchenjunga and Makalu base camps

Everest Region (High Solu)
(High Solu) This area is neighboring with khumbu to the north and this is unique trek to provide an insiders look at the high Himalayas and the remote sherpa villages. This area is inhabited by the friendly sherpa people, the interaction with whom will be an unforgettable highlights of the trip. High solu area receives far less trekking traffic than Khumbu. Making for a more intimate and traditional experience than is commonly available further north. We can do visits to several important monasteries of the area, the focus is really on getting into the un traveled high country, where the only people we might encounter others are local yak herders grazing their animals.

Wilderness Treks

Mustang Treks
The Mustang of Nepal is often referred as 'the forbidden kingdom of Nepal'. This area of the middle Himalayas have the true Tibetan life style as they have centuries ago. To avoid this unique place being over run by tourism the region has been as a restricted area with only a handful of foreigners have visited the area, where in lies the palace of Lo manthang, the seat of the king of Mustang, is still in residence. We start the trip from Kathmandu by drive or fly to pokhara, then trek along the Kaligandaki valley or take the flight to Jomsom. From where we trek to edge of the Kaligandaki river and ascending the ridge to the north of the town with a spectacular panoramic view of Annapurna range rising behind you. The upper mustang is dominated by an endless expanse of grey and yellow hills. There are several passes, fluted cliffs, camping in the villages with green irrigated oasis until we reach the spectacular walled town of Lo-manthang. This is an extraordinary place and home for the king of Mustang as well as beautiful Monasteries and maniwalls. After taking time of exploring this place we return to Jomsom and fly back to Pokhara and Kathmandu.

Manaslu Treks

This trek was forbidden to the tourists till 1991. When for the first time the Japanese Expedition team ascent the Manaslu Peak (8157m.), it became known as "Japanese Mountain". Since it is still a restricted area special permit from the government of Nepal is needed. This trek begins from Gorkha or Aarughat, Trishuli Bazzar or Dhading and is usually done in an well-organized camping group. This trek is culturally and geographically important and fascinating. The Tibetans of the upper Budi-Gandaki, the region also known as Nupri (the western mountains), and the Tsum Valley are direct descendants of Tibetan immigrants. Their speech, dress and customs are exclusively Tibetan. The trade between the area and Tibet still goes on.
