Bhaktapur :
Situated at an altitude of 1,401m, Bhaktapur covers an area of four square miles. Bhaktapur or the city of Devotees still retains a medieval charm and visitors to this ancient town are treated to numerous wonders of cultural and artistic achievements. The past glory of the Malla rulers continues to be reflected at the Durbar Square. Pottery and weaving are its traditional industries. Bhaktapur is famous for woodcarving, the Bhadgaolen topi (Tradition Nepali Cap) and curd. This city is situated about 14 km east of Kathmandu and can be reached by public transport or private vehicle.
Nagarkot :
Nagarkot is popular tourist resort of Nepal. It is a situated 32 km east of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2,170 meters above the sea level. The panoramic view of the major peaks of the eastern Himalaya includes Sagarmatha (Mt Everest) and western area peaks can be seen from there. Nagarkot is famous for sunrise and sunset view.
Swayambhunath :
The Buddhist temple of Swayambhunath situated on the top of a hill west side of the city is one of the most popular and instantly recognizable symbols of Nepal. The temple is known as the Monkey Temple. The Stupa of Bouddhanath in the west side of Kathmandu is also one of the great Buddhist temple and the main attraction of Kathmandu Valley. This ancient colossal Stupa is one of the biggest in the world, and the centre of Tibetan Buddhism in the world.
Patan :
The ancient city of Patan, 5km southeast of Kathmandu, is known as the city of fine arts. The city is full of Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments. The diversity of the medieval culture that allowed both Hinduism and Buddhism to flourish has left a rich legacy of impressive sightseeing in this city for all visitors.
Pashupatinath:
Situated 5 km east of Kathmandu, the temple of Lord Shiva, Pashupatinath, this is one of the holy place for Hindus and considered one of the biggest Hindu temple of the world. Only Hindus are allowed inside the temple before but now it is opened for all visitors.
Pokhara:
Pokhara valley lies on 90 miles west of kathmandu (capital city of Nepal) and this valley is attraction for the tourists by its natural beauty. Pokhara means the city of lake which have many lakes including Fewa lake for boating, begnas taal, Rupa taal etc. Many old temples, Caves, Interesting Seti gorge, Devid falls and the jewel of the mountains including Annapurna ranges, Matter-horn of Nepal (Machchapuchre) and many more. From the valley we can do short hikes to Sarangkot and world peace stupa for the breathtaking view of the Himalayas . 2 night 3 days will be long enough to wander around and explore the pokhara valley.
Lumbini:
Lumbini is the birth place of Sakyamuni Buddha. The lumbini garden house is actual spot where sakyamuni Buddha was born and a pillar erected by Emperor Asoka of India in 249 B.C. to mark the exact spot. There is ruins and ancient monastery of mayadevi(mother of Sakyamuni Buddha) and other monuments. There is various monasteries built by the other Buddhist countries as Japan, Thailand, Burma, Korea, Taiwan, Sri-lanka etc. Areas around there are many ruins old forts and palaces of that period could be seen.
