Mount Manaslu(8163M) is the eighth highest peak in the world. It is located in western Nepal about fourty miles east of Mount Annapurna. The mountains long ridges and valley glaciers offer feasible approaches from all directions, and it culminates in a peak that towers steeply above its surrounding landscape, and is a dominant feature. The 1956 First ascent, by T. Imanishi (Japan) and Gyalzen Norbu (Sherpa).
Manaslu is considered an ‘achievable’ 8000m peak with minimal objective hazards and the climbing route follows a relatively straightforward line to the summit without any significant technical sections.
This expedition presents a real opportunity for climbers to enter the world of 8000m climbing and is considered similar in difficulty to Cho Oyu in Tibet.
