Manaslu trekking route is opened for the tourists since 1992 and restricted area of Nepal. The trekkers need the special trek permit to travel this area. Manaslu lies on east of the Annapurna area bordered by Marsyangdi river to the west and by Budi Gandaki river to the east. It is considered as one of the adventurous and remote trekking in Nepal which is always possible with fully equipped and guided groups. The Treks in the Manaslu region originate at the elevation around 1000m and reach at the height of 5213m(Larkya pass).The trek in this area makes a visit more unique and unspoiled offering a perfect combination of rich cultures, unsurpassed himalayan beauty, varied landscapes, flora and fauna and wildlifes.The trek ascends through BudiGandaki river to Larkya La Pass with attractive views of Himalchuli, Boudha himal, Manaslu 8163m, Ganesh Himal ranges Siringi himal and the Annapurna ranges.
The Locals of upper BuriGandaki region are known as the Nupri; their language and dress are similar to the neighboring Tibetans. These local Himalayan people still earn their living through trade with Tibet. Most of the villages are inhabitant by tibetan origin peoples and some of the other groups are found here is gurung and Tamang.
There is many routes we can combine with Manaslu trek. One option passes through Dudh Pokhari, that is a pilgrimage destination for Hindus and Buddhists. Another route takes you by Rupi nala pass/Manaslu Base Camp. While the most popular option is to trek over the Larke La pass and get in the Marsyangdi valley in the Annapurna region and trek down to Besisahar. Also you can combine this trek with the Annapurna circuit trek.
