Mera Peak (6654m) is the highest trekking peak in Nepal situated at the east of Khumbu valley & Mt. Everest region. Climbing to Mera Peak is so challenging with great adventure. It is one of the non technical trekking Peaks but you should have some climbing experiences previously to join with this climbing. Mountaineers who plan to go for higher peak climbing above 7000m can start their 1st climbing from Mera peak to gain enough climbing technique & mountaineering experience before heading up for those high peaks. It ranks among the most rewarding peak climbing in Nepal and leads to a true mountaineering experience. There are many other routes crossing over high & difficult passes which lead you to the Base Camp & Summit of Mera Peak. We established a last high camp on the Mera la, a stunning view point before to make a successful summit. The views from the summit are dramatic along with Mt. Everest; Lhotse and Nuptse on the north and Kanchanjunga, Chamlang and Makalu on the east. Our itinerary starts after Trans Himalayan flight to incline airstrip Lukla and continue further to the east following through fascinating Sherpa Villages to Mera peak Base Camp situated at the base of an immense glacier leading to the Mera La Pass. The climb from Mera La to the Summit is gradual with outstanding mountain views. After a successful summit, we take a short cut route back to Lukla and take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu.
